UAL Foundation Diploma 20-21

Art and Design Level 4

The Reigate School of Art UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma, is a fundamental and dynamic qualification, which provides a transition from general education to specialist art and design education. It has the ability to allow each individual to discover what genuinely makes them tick, and how to relate this to their artwork and industry specific subjects. This enables the students to make highly informed decisions when applying to Higher Education or seeking employment within a related industry.

This year has been particularly complex for the FAD students, who have discovered what it means to self-challenge; to take risks with their own work; to gather a deeper understanding of how to use their skills to communicate ideas, and generate concepts that show an understanding of cultural, ethical and contextual issues within Art and Society. Each of them has had to design and develop a website (links above) to document and track the progress of their year, which has added to the volume of their work and understanding, but has become a significant record of their achievement.

For them, the greatest value of this course has been to recognise they can accomplish an highly advanced level of understanding and self-confidence. This has been achieved through taking responsibility for their own learning, following their intuition and engaging at depth with their work and audience.

We are proud to be able to say we are a UAL Foundation Diploma Centre for Excellence, and one of the highest achieving UAL Foundation Courses in the Country.

Please enjoy the artwork, and the student's websites.
