Progressing to: Employment/Training - Tattoo Artist
Within my Final Major Project, the exploration of tattoo culture is a prominent theme throughout, as I have been eager to depict a theme that is perceived as either controversial, or conventional, within contemporary society. Primarily, to emphasise whether the appearance of the contemporary tattooing subculture is hindered by its harsher stigmas and stereotypes, and whether this project can educate those with opposing opinions.
Societal opinions largely influenced my research, as I had collected information from primary sources, through conducting interviews with family members from varying age groups, and then accumulating information from secondary sources, like documentaries, articles, and studying artists that example tattoo culture in their work.
Conclusively, an accumulation of themes from previous units, The Body Project and Encounters, have been correspondingly influenced my FMP, since there are similarities within their highlighted themes, specifically in the influence of outside appearances, and the prominence of tattoo culture.
