Artist Statement:

For my final major project, I started off examining the way we treat mental health in the UK. I set out to examine factors that lead to people not getting the help they need. One prominent factor was the stigma around mental health.

To address the issue, I examined the Japanese Pottery technique called Kintsugi, the act of taking a broken pottery piece and repairing it using gold to highlight the cracks.

For my collection DAMAGED GOODS, I will examine the metaphorical application for Kintsugi, looking at flaws as part of our story, the part of us that makes us unique.
